Guide to surviving the afterlife

Good morning! I love how this post turned out! I originally wrote it for a fabulous blog Wicked Readings by Tawania If you missed it, here's your chance to check it out. Thanks for stopping by!

You've realized your dead, now what?

Congratulations on transcending into the next realm! Things are the same but very different all at once. The sky is still blue. The grass is still green. You can still enjoy your favorite foods and a glass of wine if you'd like. But you don't feel the same. And you may not look the same either. The gift of knowing is both a blessing and a curse. At times existing in the afterlife is overwhelming, scary, and intimidating. If you've found yourself unsure of how to proceed, you're in luck! I've created a guide to help.

Step one- Get your assignment. Take the test in the big building in sky and find what your calling is as a spirit guide. Maybe you'll be a protector. A healer. A comforter. After you find a routine and begin making a difference by tending to your charges, you will feel fulfilled. Happy. And even more enlightened.

Step two- Enjoy your new surroundings and test out your abilities. In case you didn't notice, here are a few of the new things you can do. Talk to others mentally. Pick your age. Change your clothes just by thinking about what you want to wear. Go anywhere just by wanting to. Once you get used to things, you'll wonder how you ever managed to get by before.

Step three- Make friends. Stay social. Never go at it alone. Find an old classmate, a former boss, or family member. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to cross paths with a previous soul mate. Reunite that old flame!

Step four- Ask for help when you need it. Either find another spirit guide to ask or ask The Masters. They are here to help.

Step five- Follow the rules. In the afterlife there is but one rule: aside from your charges, do not make contact with an Unknown. It's confusing to them. When they are ready to believe, they will.

Good luck on your continued journey! For more information contact The Masters

Five facts about This Morning I Woke Up Dead that may surprise you

Hey! Thanks for stopping by! I originally wrote this post as a guest post for a GREAT blog, mom with a kindle as part of my virtual book blog tour. It was a blast!! And I am kind of sad the tour is over. But just in case you missed it, I thought it may be fun to share some of my posts with you!

5 facts about This Morning I Woke Up Dead that may surprise you

1-Although the title my sound a bit suspicious, it’s not a book about zombie’s or even a horror story. What would you say if I told you it was a beautiful love story? A story about true love, soul mates, and defying all the odds to be together even a lack of beating hearts. Sound surprising? If you want to know more, keep on reading!

2- The main character, Hadley Christensen, dies in the first chapter! I know, I know, this may sound like a spoiler, and for most books it certainly is! But This Morning I Woke Up Dead is not like any other book you’ve ever read.  Most everyone in our story is no longer ‘alive’.

3-In the eight months it took me to write the book I had no idea how it was going to end. Zero. Zip. Nada. No clue whatsoever! It was tentatively whispered to me as I went long and was carefully revealed to me one word at a time. I was just as surprised as you will be by the ending.

4- Pieces of me are sprinkled throughout each of the four main characters. Some things are a bit more flattering than others but we can’t all be perfect! And besides, no one could relate to that anyways. Since I’m feeling brave today, I’ll admit to a few. I’ll begin with Hadley’s stubbornness, that’s totally me. Once we decide we want something we don’t stop until it’s ours! And I also share her love of clothes. Who doesn’t enjoy getting new things? If only we could just think about what it is we want and it would appear on us, as Hadley can, we’d be set! Next is Dominic, we both share a love of running. There is no better release and escape. We also both have a cat and enjoy keeping our space neat and tidy.  Logan and I are the least alike but we do share a rebellious streak! Now that I am a mom, I try to keep it under wraps. And lastly, and the one most like myself, is Emerson. We both love to bake. We love our kids immensely, only Em has one child and I am blessed with four. We both have close friendships with a brother, and lastly, we’re both a little awkward from time to time.

5-Ok, here’s one more fun fact for you. This Morning I Woke Up Dead is based on a true story. Yep. That’s right. It’s your story. Will you believe?

If you've not met Hadley and Dominic, there's no time like the present!

Top Ten Places I Love To Read

My name is Mindy Larson and I have a confession to make...

I love to read!!

And if you're reading this, you probably do too! Reading can be done almost anywhere and at anytime. I thought it might be fun to be part of Top Ten Tuesday and write up a top ten list of my favorite spots to curl up with book.

1-In the bathtub. A few of my favorite books have water spots and wrinkly pages... But that's what makes them a favorite! I love well worn books.
It means they're living up to their potential and being read!

2-At the park. When the weather is nice, I love to go to the park and sit under a shade tree and read. Where I live, I have to share the space with a few squirrels, but they never seem to mind especially if I've brought along a snack to share.

3-In the car. Whenever my hubby and I are going on one of our road trips, I love bringing along a book or two!

4-On an airplane. Not only does reading pass the time on a plane, it keeps you from worrying about the turbulence and bothering the person next to you.

5-While waiting at the doctors office. Reading here eases the wait dramatically! The time flies by when I am engrossed in a book, and sometimes, they're ready for me before I am ready for them!

6-On the couch. If one of my kiddos is hogging the TV with episodes of Spongebob, or the hubby is watching one of his westerns, all I have to do to stay sane is read a book and everyone is happy.

7-The beachI don't get the opportunity to go the beach as often as I'd like but whenever I do, I love bringing along a book!

8-Poolside. Again, since I live in Southeast Idaho I don't get this opportunity as often as I'd like, we have a pretty short summer, but when I do get the chance, you know the drill!

9-In the laundry room. Mine is downstairs. There are times I go up and down the stairs a dozen or more times a day. When this gets old, I'll bring a book down while I do the laundry and read straight on through the drying cycle!

10-At the lake. Especially if we're fishing! Because if the fish aren't biting,

 reading keeps it fun!

Thanks for checking out my list!

Did I miss any??

I'd love to hear your favorite places to read!
